Error messages and diagnostic codes

This dryer has an automatic error-monitoring system that helps detect problems early. If the dryer does not work properly, check the messages below before calling for service.

Temperature sensor failure Codes: tE1 through tE7

• Meaning: Temperature sensor failure.
• What to do: Turn off the appliance and call for service.

Power cord connection problem Code: Ps

• Meaning: The power cord is connected incorrectly.
• What to do: Check the connection of the power cord to the terminal block.

Exhaust system problem Codes: d8O, dGO, dGs

These codes mean the exhaust system is restricted.

Possible causes listed in the manual: - The exhaust system is too long or has too many turns/restrictions. - The house exhaust system is blocked.

What to do: - Do not use the appliance until the exhaust system has been cleaned and/or repaired. - Using the appliance with severely restricted exhaust is dangerous and could result in a fire or other property damage. - Check the outside dryer vent while the appliance is operating to make sure there is strong airflow. - If the exhaust system is extremely long, have it repaired or rerouted. - Keep the area around the dryer clean and free of clutter. - Check the vent hood for damage or lint clogging. - Make sure the area around the vent hood is clear.

Steam setting display Display: bIGf

• Meaning: The More Time button was pressed.
• This display means the steam option has been set for a “big” item such as a comforter.
• What to do: Press the Less Time button to reduce the indicated load size.

Flow SenseTM indicator The Flow SenseTM indicator helps show exhaust restriction during drying.

If the indicator shows four bars during the drying cycle Possible cause: - The exhaust system is too long or has too many turns/restrictions.

What to do: - Install a shorter or straighter duct run. See the Installation instructions for details.

Possible cause: - Partial blockage of the ductwork due to lint buildup or another foreign object.

What to do: - Check and clean the ductwork immediately. - The appliance can still be used in this condition, but drying times will be longer and energy consumption will increase.

If the Flow SenseTM indicator stays on after the vent restriction is cleared - The appliance has detected a restriction in the external dryer venting. - If exhaust restrictions are sensed, the indicator remains on for 2 hours after the end of the cycle. - Opening the door or pressing the Power button turns off the display. - After the restriction is cleared, the Flow SenseTM system needs multiple consecutive cycles to confirm improved performance before the indicator resets. - If the Flow SenseTM indicator stays on for more than five cycles after the restriction has been cleared, call for service.

If the appliance will not turn on Possible cause: - The power cord is not properly plugged in.

What to do: - Make sure the power plug is securely plugged into a grounded outlet that matches the appliance's rating plate.
