Control panel basics

The control panel lets you turn the dryer on and off, choose a cycle, start or pause a cycle, select extra options, and read the display for time and status information.

Main controls

Power button - Press to turn the appliance on. - Press again to turn it off. - Important: pressing Power during a cycle cancels that cycle, and any load settings are lost.

Cycle selector knob - Turn the knob to choose the cycle you want. - After you select a cycle, the standard preset settings appear in the display. - For Manual Dry cycles, you can change these settings with the cycle modifier buttons any time before you start the cycle.

Start/Pause button - Press to start the selected cycle. - If the dryer is already running, press to pause the cycle without losing the current settings. - Important: if you do not press Start/Pause again soon enough to resume a paused cycle, the appliance turns off automatically and all cycle settings are lost.

Extra Options and Functions / Cycle Modifier buttons - Use these buttons to choose options for the selected cycle. - Not every option is available on every cycle. - Remote Start: with the LG ThinQ app, you can use a smartphone to control the appliance remotely. - Wi-Fi: press and hold the Reduce Static button for 3 seconds to start connecting the appliance to the LG ThinQ app.

Time and Status Display

The display shows the current settings, estimated time remaining, selected options, and status messages. When the appliance is turned on, the default settings in the display light up.

Status and reminder indicators

Flow Sense indicator - The Flow Sense™ duct blockage sensing system detects blockages in the ductwork that reduce exhaust flow from the dryer. - This reminder helps you know when the exhaust system may need attention. - LG says that keeping the exhaust system clean improves operating efficiency and can help minimize service calls.

Clean Filter reminder - The Clean Filter indicator lights at the beginning of the cycle to remind you to check the lint filter. - It turns off when you press Start/Pause.

Cycle Status indicators - Dry lights up when the appliance is in the drying stage. - Cool lights up when the appliance is in the cool down stage.

Reading the remaining time and special indicators

Estimated Time Remaining - When you select a drying cycle, the display shows the estimated drying time for that cycle. - The time changes if you choose extra options. - On Sensor Dry cycles, the cycle time may fluctuate as the appliance recalculates drying time for the best results.

M indicator - Lights when the Normal cycle is selected with the Normal dry level. - It does not light when the Energy Saver option is on. - This feature optimizes drying times and temperatures by detecting the laundry’s characteristics.

Control lock indicator - The i symbol lights when the control panel is locked.

Wi-Fi indicator - The f symbol lights when the appliance is connected to a home Wi-Fi network.

Remote control indicator - The w symbol lights when the remote control feature is activated.

Quick use guide - Turn the dryer on with Power. - Turn the cycle selector knob to choose a cycle. - Review the displayed presets and adjust allowed settings if needed. - Choose any available options using the modifier buttons. - Press Start/Pause to begin. - During operation, use Start/Pause to pause without losing settings. - Watch the display for time remaining, drying stage, and reminders such as Clean Filter or Flow Sense.

What the display tells you - Settings selected for the cycle - Estimated time remaining - Extra options in use - Status messages and cycle stage - Reminder lights for filter and duct checks - Connection and remote-control status

Important notes - Power cancels the current cycle. - Not all options work with every cycle. - If a paused cycle is not resumed in time, the dryer turns off and settings are lost.
