Level the Washer

Before you begin, make sure the floor where the washer will sit is clean, dry, and free of dust, dirt, water, and oil. This helps keep the washer feet from sliding. If the feet can move or slide, the washer may vibrate more and make more noise.

What to do

1) Put the washer in its final location Move the washer to the exact place where it will be used.

Be careful not to pinch, strain, or crush the water hoses and drain hose while positioning the washer.

If you have a carpenter’s level, you can use it to check whether the washer is level. The slope under the washer should not exceed 1 inch, and all 4 leveling feet must rest firmly on the floor.

2) Adjust the leveling feet Turn all 4 leveling feet: - one direction to raise the washer - the other direction to lower the washer

Keep adjusting until the washer sits level and all 4 feet are firmly on the floor.

3) Tighten the locknuts When the washer is level, turn the locknuts counterclockwise and tighten them.

4) Check the washer again Push or rock the top edges of the washer gently. - If the washer does not rock, the level is correct. - If the washer rocks, adjust the leveling feet again.

If the floor is slippery If the washer is installed on a slippery surface, it may move because of excessive vibration. Incorrect leveling can also cause noise, vibration, and malfunction.

If this happens, the manual says to install non-skid pads under the leveling feet and then adjust the level.

Using non-skid pads 1. Clean the floor where the pads will be attached. - Use a dry rag to remove foreign objects or moisture. - If moisture remains, the pads may slip.

2. After placing the washer in the installation area, adjust the level.

3. Place the adhesive side of the non-skid pad on the floor. - It is most effective to install the pads under the front leveling feet. - If that is hard to do, place them under the back leveling feet.

4. Recheck the washer’s levelness. - Push or rock the top edges of the washer gently to make sure it does not rock. - If it rocks, level the washer again.
